All prerequisites must be completed by the end of the spring semester of the year you are entering. Applicants without a baccalaureate degree must complete the Texas Core Curriculum that consists of 42 semester credit hours. Some courses that satisfy core curriculum requirements may also be used tro satisfy program prerequisites. For further information see the Texas General Education Core Web Center.

Minimum of 80 semester credit hours in core curriculum, science, and math program prerequisite courses (for BS program applicants) or Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or closely related science (for post-baccalaureate certificate program applicants.)

Prerequisite semester credit hours from the recommended courses listed below, with a grade of C or better, including at least 6 semester credit hours of upper-level coursework:

* Introduction to Clinical Laboratory Sciences may be taken concurrently with program courses.

** The Texas Core Curriculum consists of 42 semester credit hours, and some program prerequisites may satisfy core cur­riculum requirements. Completion of the Texas Core Cur­riculum is required for applicants to the Bachelor of Science degree program only; post-baccalaureate certificate applicants are not required to complete the Texas Core Curriculum.
