The American Occupational Therapy Foundation (AOTF)

Corporations, charitable organizations, private individuals, and state occupational therapy associations contribute funds for the scholarships. Although each award has its own requirements, all recipients must be currently enrolled full time in an OT educational program. You must also be an AOTA member.
AMBUCS Scholars
http://www.ambucs.com/ascholars.htmScholarships for Therapists is administered by the National AMBUCS, Inc. a non-profit service association committed to creating independence for persons with disabilities. Must be enrolled in an entry-level occupational therapy educational program (assistant programs are not eligible).

Karla Terrance Scholarship in Pediatric Occupational Therapy(Competitive Scholarship)
Purpose – To support an Occupational Therapy student who exhibits the same devotion in the field of pediatrics.Â
Eligibility – Enrollment in the Occupational Therapy Program and in good academic standing, e.g., no disciplinary actions.
Selection Criteria – Educational and/or professional potential, commitment to the profession of pediatric occupational therapy, academic performance, special circumstances as determined by the scholarship committee.
Application – On an annual basis, students meeting eligibility criteria will be evaluated by the Scholarship Committee, the scholarship committee will review pertinent documentation and select recipient(s) based on the established criteria and selection factors. Recipients will be approved by the School of Health Professions Scholarship Committee and the UT Health Science Center Student Loan and Scholarship Committee. Recipient must be willing to observe 2 hours of behavioral therapy with a trained BCBA or BCABA-approved therapist within six months after award.

Renewal Criteria  - The scholarship may be renewed annually, depending on the availability of funds, if the student maintains:
- grade point average of at least 3.0
- good academic standing
- a continued dedication in the field of pediatrics
E. K. Wise Loan Program
AOTA’s Membership department administers the E.K. Wise Loan Program. It is restricted to students entering an entry-level master’s or post-professional master’s curriculum in occupational therapy. The program offers a one-time loan of up to $5,000 for female students who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States. The loan must be repaid within three years of graduation or earlier should the recipient withdraw from the approved course of study before graduating. Call 800-729-2682, x2760 for more information.
